Building a Storage Solution
After we moved into our house last summer we had a lot of projects to do to make it our own. It is a never ending project working on things around the house the latest was the crawl space in Justin's bedroom. His room is above what was formally our garage which is in the middle of changing into a family room ( another story there )It had a cubby on each side of the room but they weren't finished, plywood flooring and insulation out. I started sunday by putting up a plastic vapor barrier to cover the insulation. Thankfully my wife came up with a wonderful idea to put some laminate flooring down that we had left over from another project to cover the floor. It's beginning to look like a little room in there now. This morning I added a florecent light that we picked up last night so we can see in there. It will give Jay some needed storage space and a closet spot to hang up clothes. It's coming along, I will have to try and put some sheet rock up to finish it up a little better at some point.

The Love of Life
Only 31 years ago
An Angel was dropped down from Above
Especially made just for us
We may not have realized at the moment
But a special soul had begun on this day
Caring and loving,
Nurturing to her babies
Beautiful in every way
Inside and out
A smile that can brighten any day
Always trying to make things better for everyone else
Sometimes forgetting about herself
Not wanting to miss a moment, can wear her down by the end of the day
No matter what, she will rise to the occassion to see her little ones be little
We have all grown to love this amazing lady
A little more each and every day.
Here's to 31 more years and 31 after that.
I wouldn't want to miss a day
Love you Dear,
Happy Birthday!

Video Game Conspiracy
I sometimes get into conspiracy mode thinking, isn't it funny when everytime there is a new release in the video game world you can't find it anywhere? Whenever there is a new system released it can't be bought or a new game like guitar hero, dance revolution or rockband. Does anyone else ever think that the video game companies release them so slowly the it builds an uncontrolable demand. The pressure it puts on parents desperately trying to find what their kids want. I work in retail and I have watched this scenerio play out over and over again. The thing is why? When a new movie comes out or a CD you never see stores running out of these things what's the differance they burn them onto discs and put them in cases and ship them so why is it so hard for these companies to do the same thing? Give me your opinion, I even with my retail connection it has taken me 6 months to get a guitar hero for my young fella.

Diamond Opportunity
I have seen over the years many smart advertising campaigns but I would have to say the best ever would have to be the new Diamond Shreddie campaign. What a fantastic idea, here is a product we all know and love but Post puts a new spin on it without any actual change to the product. They took a square Shreddie turned on it's side and now it's a diamond. Everyone loves diamonds more than they do squares what do you think of this marketing idea, silly or genius?
Political Crisis
What a humourous situation when someone gets caught calling the kettle black. The other day at a press conferance the New York Govener Silverton stood there very serious with his wife by his side and announced that he had extra marital affairs, amazing as this is the type of thing that he campaigned so strongly against and cracked down on so hard through his term. I can only imagaine the humiliation he must be feeling knowing he has destroyed his entire career and reputation for a "meaningless" fling with a prostitute. Even more interesting what would be going through his wife's mind while she stood there apparently supporting him through these announcements, but really she must be going crazy in her mind. The restraint shown here was incredible. It's a shame when politicians can't be trusted and even worse the ones that seem like they are on the up and up and are working hard for change normally turn out to be the worst. Wouldn't it be refreshing to have politicians that represent the people and uphold a strong social standing.

Home Renovations
How are you with home renovation projects? When we start a project in the house we work on it until it is finished. I was thinking today sitting here at my in-laws house actually in the bathroom, when I first started dating my wife 10 years ago they had not finished their bathroom yet. To this day it's still not finished, the wall paper is still ripped off the wall, no molding around the door etc etc. Nothing has changed in 10 years wouldn't this drive you absolutely insane. When you actually go through the house there isn't 1 room that is complete in the house my wife...their daughter would drive me nuts if I left jobs like this un-done for even a week or two... she obviously fell far away from the tree. Luckily for me I suppose anyway tell me what you think about home renovation projects.
The Cheat is ON
I was surprised when I heard the Nascar News that Carl Edwards would be docked 100 points because the oil cap wasn't attached to his car post race last weekend at Las Vegas. It brings the term cheater out to this team that has been the most successful so far this year. I'm not sure what competitive advantage this could give the team and I'm eager to hear the appeal take on this. I would think it would be more of a hazard than anything driving around without a cover to the oil which if I remember right is almost directly behind the driver's seat. I don't think anyone at Roush would be risking Carl's life for a little competive advantage for the car. Nascar get with it the penalties are too much too often. It's taking away from the entertainment of great races this year.

Planning March Break
Well only 1 more day till we head off on our March Break adventure. I am thinking the week will fly by, we are planning on a couple of days at Crystal Palace Amusement Park. We usually enjoy this day alot, lot's of fun rides and games for the kids. This year we are finally going to take advantage of their 2nd day for $4 we talk about it every year but always opt out in the end. We discovered another great thing this morning as the kids usually want to take in a couple of movies, now for us to get the 6 of us in the theatre and some treats will cost 80-100 bucks but next week for March Break the theatre is having toonie matinees so that will cut the cost dramatically for us. We also have a birthday party for Trinity while we are home so that will fill in another day.

Presidential Sound Off
The political debate has been ongoing for months on who will lead the party into the election, Clinton or Obama. My take on these candidates would be that they seem to be pretty well neck and neck throughout why not put these two powerhouse teams together and run for the Presidential Election. Put them together on the same ballot and go to each strength, they would easily beat the competion and take the White house. I suppose teh issue involved here might be they both want to be the leader and might not be able to work together but what a powerful campaign they would mount if given the chance. Either way it will be an exciting event as we either see the first Black President or first Female President, I can't wait to see the outcome.
