Laptop vs desktop

We bought a lap top in the spring to have a second computer in the house and felt it might get used a bit but we never realized how much we would actually use it. Our other computer is only 1 1/2 years old and still works well but now everyone wants to use the "Lappy". I would have to say for every 10 hours of computer use in our house the lap top is used 9 hours compared to desktop. I couldn't imagine not having one and we are planning on getting another lap top to replace the desktop as soon as possible.

Laundry Job

How often do you have to do laundry around your house, we usually will do 2 loads a day. Which isn't too bad considering we have 6 in our family. We aren't too fussy on our laundry soap but recently started using Tide to wash. We generally always tried to use the cheapest stuff we could find but I really prefer the Tide and yes I do Laundry, probably about 1/2 of what we do.

Going back to work

My wife has been out of the work world for the last 4 years, she recently decided that she would like to return to work now that the kids are starting to get a little older. I think it is a fantastic idea because sometimes it is difficult to be home all the time with little kids around. She was in today to speak to here old employer and is getting ready to go back when the kids go to school in the fall. Good luck dear.

Baby sitter

It's surprising how hard it is for us to actually get a sitter for the kids and go out on a night just my wife and I. With our anniversary coming up in a couple of weeks, I am hoping we will be able to get someone we trust with the kids so we can go for a while by ourselves. It's hard too because our anniversary always falls on our vacation which means we are also away from home. Wish us good luck on this one.

A treat for me

My wife has been working very hard on getting in better shape, now mind you it's not like she was in bad shape to begin with but she has her own insecurities. She is really showing progress in her self confidence this year and the crowning achievement in this process is the fact that she actually went to the store and tried on bikini's (1st success), actually modelled them on to me (2nd success as I have never seen her in one) and finally she actually bought one for our upcoming trip. :0) I must say it's exciting not only from a husband point of view to have a beautiful wife but I am very proud of her for being able to strut her stuff.

Camping Crazy

Tonight was the last night we really had to get ready for our big week camping trip. Being in a family of 6 it takes a lot of preperation to get ready to go. My wife makes a complete checklist of everything we might need for the trip and checks it off as it gets loaded into the van. Luckily as of right now (exhaustion time) I see way more hi-lites than blank spots. We are hoping to leave Friday Morning / Afternoon so I would say we're doing well. Wish us luck.

Furthering Education

I have recently found it is time to start looking to further my education. I had completed my high school and completed a partial bachalour degree before I began my family and moved onto my working career. It is incredible how fast years will go by and now it is time for me to still meet my family obligations while continueing my education. To make up it work I had to find alternatives to traditional schools because I still need to continue my work to provide for the family. Puppy Blues

We are working with our new puppy on house training. It has been a challange for us as we have never had a dog before and really don't know what to do with her. It is extra hard because we have 4 small children and they like to be active and get her running around. She get's excited and has accidents, a month in and we are starting to make progress but the next dilema we are going on vacation for 2 weeks, we are hopeing she will be good when we get home.

Memory Walk

What would you feel if someone you love, a family member, a friend or even worse yourself began to lose their memories, and ability to function on a day to day basis. Alzheimer's Disease is a devestation condition that robs the afflictated of their mobility, memories and themselves, they lose their spark(soul) that makes them who they are. There are many people everyday working towards a cure for this disease and though there has been progress made there is still so much work left to be done. Good research requires funding and to that end there is the Alzheimer's Memory Walk and they are currently searching for teams and lead captains to create the atmosphere of togetherness to encourage people to get together for a great cause

There are over 600 walks planned for this fall all accross the country to be part of one check your zip code for the walk closest to you. Getting ready for Vacation

What are you doing for vacation this year? I'm heading off with the family this weekend to spend a week on the beach camping. This has become a bit of a tradition for us, I believe this is our 3rd year going to this particular camp ground. It is relaxing and the kids enjoy the camp fires, access to the beach and of course trips to the treat store in the evening. It is fun because it's roughing it, no electricty and better yet no reastaurants around so we can save money while still having fun.

What's your process for getting ready for a night out and how do you protect yourself from meeting the wrong person. I'm sure if you've ever gone out to a bar, party or club you have been hit on by some lame ducks. You know the guy that comes up with the "Where you've been all my life" guy, what's the worst pick up line you have ever heard, one so bad you walk away or just burst out laughing. When we were at the beach the other night I snapped this shot of my wife looking out into the water at sunset. I thought this was a beautiful picture both of her and the scenery around us here in our new home. The water was fairly warm and the kids had a great time playing in the sand and getting me to tow them around on their boogie boards.

Hands free for life

Many areas are becoming hands free while driving . What's your opinion on this? I personally would have to admit to having used the cell phone while driving more than once and will certainly agree it is a distraction from the road. I think it is a great idea to eliminate the temptation to use the phone while driving. I got caller display on my phone so if it happens to ring while driving I can either pull over and call back or wait until I get to where I am going before answering. There are other great ideas to like the blue tooth that you can use so you can talk and still keep your hands where they need to be. Sometimes though even the conversation can be the distraction depending on what the situation is so that one is pretty hard to police how do you ban speaking in a vehicle. Give me your opinion on this topic, I would love to hear different views.

Vacation is coming

Only 2 weeks left until vacation, I can't wait, it has been extra hard at work lately because everyone is stressed by feeling the pinch of cash and a lot of staff are leaving for higher paying jobs elsewere because they really need the money. This in turn stresses everyone else out because they have to work harder and are also trying to train new people that doesn't happen overnight.

The day off...at last.

I am off finally it was a long haul, we wanted to take a few days off to travel on July 1 so I had to work since we got back, July 2 - July 8 straight, after being away for 4 days and not getting much sleep this was a long run. Tommorrow is supposed to be hot again and I believe we will be off to the beach.
